EMERGING ARTIST

Kristi Rangel is a Houston based, self taught, multi-disciplinary artist who brings to her craft a passion and dedication to community – honed by her many years as an outstanding educational, public health, and city government leader. Starting her artistic journey later in life allowed her to bring some interesting insights to her work and a unique perspective. As the HCAH Emerging Artist, Rangel is a longtime member of HCAH through her professional role as a Public Health Education Chief for the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Houston Movement. She has curated a collection of seven paintings aptly named “Seven,” which focuses on gender, equity, and environmental justice.
